Privacy policy and terms of service for the if you ask mobile app
Effective date: May 24, 2026 Last updated: May 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the if you ask mobile application (“if you ask,” “the app,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use it. The app is published by Yuchuan Shan, an individual developer based in Massachusetts, USA.
The app is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. It does not require an account, does not connect to any server we operate, and does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
The app does not collect any of the following:
The player names you enter during a game (“Player 1,” “Player 2,” or whatever you choose to type) and your in-game progress (which questions you have seen, which round you are on) are held only in your device’s memory while the app is running. This information is erased automatically when you close the app or start a new game. None of it is written to permanent storage on your device or transmitted off your device.
The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because no personal information is collected at all, the app complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements regarding minors by default.
The app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting, or telemetry services. It is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store; those platforms have their own privacy policies that govern the download and installation of the app, which are independent of this policy. We do not receive any user-identifiable data from either store.
Because we do not collect or store any personal information about you, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. Deleting the app from your device removes the app entirely along with any in-memory game data.
If we ever change how the app handles information — for example, by adding an optional feature that involves data collection — we will update this Privacy Policy and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the app’s store listing.
